Pat Lewis is our lead shipper at J. Stone Cards. Pat was born in Grants Pass, Oregon, grew up on the Oregon coast and has lived in Oregon all of her 43 years.

She married Rick Lewis 21 years ago, and they have 4 children. Pat also has 2 married daughters (through her marriage with Rick) and they have been blessed with their 1st beautiful grandchild Mariah who is 1 1/2.

Pat's passions outside of work are her family, her artwork, gardening and her faith in God.

Pat was one of these extraordinary "employee prospects" who walked through the door unannounced (just stopped by to see if we were hiring) and we weren't: but we both almost instantly knew that if we'd let her go with a promise to call her back, we'd never see her again~ she'd have been "snatched up" by the next business she visited! So we said, "Pat if you want to work here~ just go paint cards." Pat did, and her paint work was beautiful but she gravitated toward helping Angie (our V.P. and business manager) in that area of the company, and soon Pat had "migrated" into the shipping department ~ where she stayed.

Pat has worked very hard to physically re-organize our shipping area, and now she and Angie together do our day to day packing of orders, plus Pat helps Angie as her "executive assistant" in the business office. Pat and Angie have a "workstyle" which compliments and defines both of their jobs: they are an awesome team and they work together with friendship, trust and respect.

We know we can count on Pat to do her best in any situation; she's smart, flexible and accountable for her actions ~ Pat radiates trustworthiness, confidence and joy! She is fun to work with and steady as a boulder!

I am so proud and grateful Pat Lewis is an intricate part of our "family" at J. Stone Cards.

Gloria DeLa CruzMeet Gloria DeLa Cruz ~ who supervises our painting studio, where J. Stone Cards are produced. Gloria is a "certified artist" at J. Stone Cards, and she is in charge of training the 4 production painters who work with her; also Gloria has illustrated 12 cards for our 2002 collection which will be released in January.

Three generations of the DeLaCruz family have worked in our studio. Judy, Gloria's grandmother and a dress designer for Barney's of New York helps us out during our peak seasons. Ana, Gloria's mother was also a "certified artist" and studio supervisor who worked with us for 6 years.

Being a "certified artist" at J. Stone Cards requires a minimum 2-year apprenticeship. Once the painter has completed the training, mastered all of the brush strokes and techniques, plus technical and mechanical uses of materials. The painter then progresses into coloration, composition, and illustration work for the card line.
